SoonlyWeds Loves: Wedding Cakes

4 min read

This is the first of many SoonlyWeds Loves blog posts where I will be sharing some of our wonderful vendors with you and showcasing some of their brilliant work- the first being wedding cakes!

So, wedding cake- everyone loves wedding cake, whether you are a traditional fruit, rich chocolate fudge or a sticky Vicki! Everyone enjoys finishing the big day off with a little treat 🙂

For my wedding day, I went all cheesy with a 5 tiered cheesecake served with crackers and grapes at the reception. It was a big hit and a massive talking point, plus top tip: It was so much cheaper than a traditional wedding cake! Which leads me perfectly on to my first pick:

SoonlyWeds Loves: Cheese and Chutney
*the ultimate cheesy wedding*

“Our cheese wedding cakes (yes made from wheels of cheese) are individually designed to suit each customer. We offer a free consultation where Matt (who has been a World Cheese Awards Judge!) will discuss the cheeses you love, your guests, when the cake is to be served and other important factors in order to come up with your own tailor made quotation that will delight you and your guests on your big day. Whether you want to buy the cheeses alone or have us deliver on the day and make your cake look as wonderful as the ones in our pictures it is up to you. With access to hundreds of different cheeses we are sure to build the perfect cake for any cheese lover. Perhaps you just love pork pie! We also supply Yorkshire made pork pie wedding cakes with a variety of fillings such as “Pork, Black Pudding & Onion Marmalade” , “Pork Wensledale & Apple” or Matt’s favourite “Pork, Chilli & Rhubarb” (YUM!); or why not integrate a layer into your cheese cake”

SoonlyWeds Loves: Mrs Mc’s
*finer details*

Mrs Mc’s

“The more I bake and create, the more I am drawn to the small details, the little things that make the difference between an average cake and a great cake. When I receive an enquiry I look for the extra touches to make it ‘unique and personal’.

I strive, wherever possible to use only natural, edible supports in my handmade decorations. I want everyone to be able to eat ALL of the cake (should they wish to) without worrying about the safety of the added decorations. It’s about added value.”

SoonlyWeds Loves: Handmade by Hannah
*small and friendly*

Harrogate Cakes

“Handmade by Hannah is a small business, currently operated from my home in Harrogate (which helps me to offer extremely competitive pricing).

I pride myself on maintaining communication with clients in the planning stages and always supply sketches of design ideas following consultations. Flavour samples can also be organised following consultation if required.

Ingredients used are of the highest standard, always selecting the freshest produce and free range eggs. This should be evident in the taste of finished product!”

Soonlyweds Loves: Sticky Sponge Cake Studio
*an artistic masterpiece!*

Sticky Sponge

“We create edible works of art from cake, chocolate, and sugar that make those special occasions memorable for a lifetime giving you an edible dream of anything your imagination can conjure up.”

SoonlyWeds Loves: Popalicious Cake Pops
*alternative*

Popalicious

“Here at Popalicious Cake Pops, we specialise in bespoke cake pops.  We can make any design or shape of cake pop so if you have anything specific in mind, please do let us know.  We create cake pop wedding cakes, favours, place settings, centrepieces for your table.  We also have 2 beautifully made stands which hold 56 or 148 cake pops – adding a wow factor to your wedding and perfect for your guests to help themselves!”

Some really unique and special vendors there to suit a variety of styles and taste buds! Our final SoonlyWeds Loves pick, isn’t a wedding cake vendor but a vendor that does fit with the theme of spending an afternoon eating treats!

SoonlyWeds Loves: Tea Time Yorkshire
*farmhouse and vintage style*

Tea Time Yorkshire

“At Tea Time Yorkshire we can provide a luxury Afternoon Tea for your wedding breakfast. Choosing an Afternoon Tea as part of your wedding helps create a wonderful relaxed atmosphere, and a great conversation starter with the gorgeous vintage china in which it is served.

Our tasty homemade food is lovingly prepared to the highest standard, so you can be sure to indulge on your special day, with a fraction of the cost of your traditional 3 course meal.

All our tasty treats are hand baked in my farmhouse Kitchen, using high quality, fresh, local, ingredients. Our products are made with butter and free range eggs, this helps our cakes taste great.”
